Lubec is located at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy. Its over 20 feet tides provide plenty of opportunities for searching for beach glass, shells, and other treasures. There are many inland bays which are great for exploring with kayaks and canoes. Deep water access offers scenic boating excursions for watching whales, seals, and and many sea birds. Many freshwater lakes also offer fishing and boating opportunities. The area boasts scenic views of Maine's rocky bold coast with lobster trap studded shorelines, sightings of American Bald eagles and other rare shore birds. Wild turkeys, white tailed deer and an occasional bear or moose can be observed along the rural roads through out the area.
