Upstairs was insulated & stairway extended as the alpine stairs were 12" high & 7" deep. Now they are the opposite & very easy to trod. It became a big play area for the kids as there was no egress for a bedroom, still working on a dormer project, but kids are grown... oh well! Possibly an egress from basement for a room down there as it is nicer down there most of the summer now that we have central air. Whole house is hardwood floors main floor including the kitchen which is original maple.
