First, we don’t think you could find a much better neighborhood to live in than Tower Grove Heights. It was so easy to walk to Grand Ave. or to Morganford Ave. for dinner at a restaurant, or even just for groceries. We especially loved Local Harvest and the Gelateria del Leoni, where we would often treat ourselves to gelato, but will also miss the wide variety of restaurants from Middle Eastern and Thai to American diner food. Both espresso lovers, we have enjoyed living near four different coffee shops in the neighborhood. And then there’s the friendliness of the employers who run so many of the different businesses, whether it was Chris and Dana at the Gelateria or Kurt at the nearby Gustine Market always willing to offer free samples. The neighborhood was also a great place to raise a family. We spent many weekends walking to the Saturday Farmer’s Market in Tower Grove Park, where our 2-yr old son would play on one of the park’s two playgrounds before splashing about in the water fountain. In the springtime, we practically lived at the nearby Missouri Botanical Garden, spending time feeding the fish and frolicking about in the Children’s Garden. And when we wanted to leave our neighborhood, it seemed like we were never more than twenty minutes from anything in the city, whether it was feasting on Italian food in the nearby Hill neighborhood, or visiting the Zoo or the Science Center in Forest Park. We had a range of options for date nights too, seeing a show at Fox Theater, dining in the Benton Park neighborhood, or having drinks at the Central West End.
