This house was the gatekeepers cottage to the Fay Estate, the estate was the largest in Lynn, over 500 acres and was owned by Richard Sullivan Fay and was actually his summer home. The grounds were landscaped by Olmsteads firm and features plants and trees that Fay brought back from his many trips abroad. The original building was a French Style Second Empire style cottage around the turn of the century a second floor was added in the Arts and Crafts style with two bedrooms and an additional bathroom. The side of the house feature fishscale shingles that add a nice texture to the house.
