    On top of the mesa just north of the Pinon Canyon Military Reservation is beautiful 41.38-acre parcel with a Totally Off the Grid cabin, completely fenced (locking gate) for maximum privacy, boasting of mountain views (Fisher Peak to Pikes Peak), a forested area of Pinon and Juniper, several large meadows. Cabin floor is soil, hardened with linseed oil and compression to a thickness of 16" or more storing passive solar heat with maximum heat collection on 12/12 (Winter Solstice). Through winter the south and west face windows allow generous light to enter the cabin. In 13 years of operation and temps at times a -15 the pipes have never froze. There is always a propane heater and a wood stove (never ending supply of wood) for heating comfort. The cooking stove is a Magic Chef of almost 100 years old and in great working condition. There is also a bathroom with a sink and shower, and a sawdust toilet. The solar electric system consists of a separate building, 9 solar panels supplying approximately 1500 watts of electricity to 8 Deka 8L 16 6 volt batteries with Outback charge controllers and inverters. In 13 yrs. the cabin has never run out of electric power. A backup generator (24volts) is always on standby. Please view Doc. for more information.
