There is regular passenger/vehicle seasonal ferry service, a modern paved airstrip, and regular passenger taxi service to and from the Village of Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island. The island has a town hall, one room schoolhouse, grocery, and three restaurants. The large state park includes historic Lonz Winery museum, a campground, a marina, and a yacht club. Scheduled events occur throughout the year.
