Features a newly renovated kitchen with all stainless steel appliances. One bedroom doubles as a home office with ultra high-speed, wired internet connections and ample desk space. The neighborhood is less than a mile from Chain Bridge and 10 minutes' drive to Georgetown, Rosslyn, the Mall, the nightlife of Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan, and virtually every other tourist site or activity in the nation's capitol. It's located within the in-demand Jamestown Elementary School and Yorktown High School districts. Despite being so close to downtown, it's in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood where you hear nothing but crickets chirping at night. The house is just minutes walk from 2 nature trails that lead to the Potomac River, with beautiful views of one of the most undeveloped urban rivers in the world. Potomac Overlook Park and Gulf Branch Nature Center are a short walk away, with tennis courts, basketball courts, a pool, campfires and nature programs. A network of running and cycling trails is also nearby, with the opportunity cover dozens of miles alongside the Potomac to Mount Vernon, along the historic C&O canal in DC, or out into the Virginia countryside. If you're feeling less athletic, the house is wired for Verizon FIOS high speed internet. There's a barbecue in back with a yard surrounded by dogwoods, ivy and friendly neighbors. The nearest metro stops are roughly 2 1/2 miles away...Ballston, Virginia Square and Clarendon (all on the Orange Line)...but there's a bus stop at the nearest intersection just 5 houses away that's served by Metrobus and Arlington Transport. The buses go to both Ballston and Rosslyn. The garage is occupied, but there is room for an additional car in the driveway, and plenty of available on-street parking. This is our family home, available for rent while we are in Australia for several months. Available from July 31 for up to 8 months. Fully furnished and ready to live in from day one. Yard maintenance included. Plants will need watering. Renter pays all utilities (gas, electric, water & sewer). Monthly cleaning service is negotiable. No smoking and no pets, please. A list of preferred repair providers with maintenance contracts or familiarity with the house (plumbing, heating and AC, etc) will be provided.
