Orcutt has recently made some really nice moves towards upscale. There is a local winery's wine tasting room (and restaraunt) literally at the other end of the block - 7 restaraunts within 5 blocks (short rural blocks, too) - aka walking distance even for a lazy bastich like me. There's a small locally-owned burger joint with fantastic burgers literally half a block away. Oh, and you don't worry about fires, EVER. We're across the street from the fire station - cuts down on crime and loitering a lot, too! I've lived here since 1973 and although it's a small house, it's wonderfully comfy.
