Beautiful and unique apartment. Its located a block north from Kalamazoo College campus (you can see the tennis courts from the sidewalk. Located about 5 blocks west of downtown very close to west main. High ceilings. Beautiful hardwood floors and a recently remodeled bathroom. Jack and jill bath with both bedrooms attached to the bathroom at the ends. Lots of windows with very nice woodwork. The kitchen is huge and very unique done in all knotty pine. The kitchen has 3 attached french doors that open up to a sunroom that also opens to outside. Because the sunroom is un-insulated and heat is included it must be kept closed up from november to april. The heat and hot water is included. the heat stays set at around 67 however the bedrooms stay warmer than that due to the thermostats location. there is a brick patio on the side and two guaranteed parking spaces and. There is a small yard with a fire pit. Dogs and cats are not allowed in this apartment at this time. the house is an older historic build and would prefer not to have children in the apartment either as there may be some lead paint layers and places a small child could get themselves into trouble, Eg under the sunroom outside or near electrical breaker boxes in the basement. Laundry is included in the basement common area. This is owner occupied with the owner/manager (me) living on site in the unit above. Cannabis use is ok. Tobacco use indoors is not ok. We all share the same ventilation system and I will know very quickly if you're smoking inside. There is a apartment below this unit with a gentleman that works first shift. Some noise and company is ok but its not going to be a party house. Most of the rooms have been freshly painted or at least touched up and I will not approve of tenants painting rooms. This apartment and the one below it were re-inspected and approved for rental in august. Owner pays for Heat/hot water. Owner provides laundry as a courtesy but not a lease term. If the dryer or washer breaks you don't get to stop paying rent about it. Don't abuse the privilege intended for tenants only . extra parking for your apartment beyond 2 spaces is not guaranteed. the two upper units of the house both are estimated to have two guaranteed spaces and one for the basement. some on street parking is available on douglas and forbes. Owner does have a pet however that really isn't going to change weather you are allowed to have a pet. Sorry. Somebody else already ruined that for everybody. I would advise tenants get renters insurance or insure your property. The property owner will not be claiming any damaged, lost, or stolen property on the home's insurance policy. Common areas like the basement or yard are not indefinate storage locations for tenants possessions. If you want your things stored safely do so in the sun room or the apartment. owner provides one trash can for whole house and may consider adding another later on. there is a recycling bin that gets picked up every other week. Owner also pays water bill. No cable or internet is provided but charter internet and cable is available.
