This is something that not enough people discuss or place a value upon when buying a house...the people here are diverse and friendly, get together frequently and genuinely help one another. There are lots of children of varying ages, so families will find instant friends for their own children. There is a brand new park at the opening to our sub-division! It has state-of-the-art equipment and is by far the best play structure in all of Silverlake/Southwyck. It is a largely shaded area with lots of benches for parents and a mister to help keep kids cool. It's also right next to a large play field and baseball diamond so kids have a great place to play sports or fly a kite. We are also within easy walking distance to the neighborhood pool, which we use on a regular basis (and which is reserved for residents and their guests). Silverlake/Southwyck also has two elementary schools on location...they are both rated very well and serve only our immediate area. This is also an area that has expanded greatly in the past few years...new overpasses and exits are being installed to improve traffic flow, and dozens upon dozens of new restaurants and major chain stores have opened their doors. This makes this house's location excellent...it is completely insulated from the noise and lights of the major thoroughfares of Pearland, yet all of the restaurant/store/bank conveniences are no more than 3-5 minutes away. The same is true for getting to the closest major highway, TX-288. It is roughly 3-4 minutes to the entrance, so trips into Houston or commuting into town for work are very convenient.
