And speaking of the beach, we definitely consider it an extension of our property, as we spend most weekends and a lot of weekday sunsets down there. It is just over 1 mile down a main street to hit the beautiful sands of Hermosa Beach, and Redondo Beach. Hermosa is known for dozens of restaurants and bars, and a very wide clean beach for surfing, volleyball, biking and concerts . It is very walkable, and has a small-town feel. Inside our house, all of the details, appliances, and finishes are very modern and recently updated. The kitchen has french style windows that open up to patios with barbecue. There is 2 wood-burning fire places and laundry. A king size bed . The full bathroom tile floor and a large mirror, and Jacuzzi tub and shower. French doors from all bedroom to front patio. The sun patio is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine while taking in the afternoon sun and a umbrella up there, so make yourself at home! In regards to our neighborhood: For those unfamiliar with the South Bay area of Los Angeles, we have the best of both worlds. We are only 12 miles from LAX airport, about 20 miles to downtown Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, or Hollywood, but we are also in a small town type of community which feels worlds away from the hustle of the LA metro area. The house is near three beaches city communities of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Redondo Beach, each with its unique identity. Manhattan has upscale dining and shopping, Hermosa has great bars, restaurants, and live music, and Redondo has a great pier, dive bars, and the King Harbor area for fishing, boating, paddle boarding, etc. In addition, Disneyland in Anaheim is about 30 minutes away, the San Gabriel mountains are an hour away, San Diego is just about 2 hours, and Vegas is about 5 hours (in moderate traffic). You really do have it all here. :) Also, we are very lucky to always have moderate weather due to the proximity of the ocean. When it is 100F in LA in the summer, it is 80F here. When it is 35F in the valleys in the winter, it is 60F here. Not only does the ocean breeze keep the weather great, but the coastal air is as clean and fresh as you can get near a big city. I have lived in this area for over 18 years, and would be glad to give you recommendations for just about anything. P.S. This is a duplex with separate entrance. We are on 3rd floor with total of 30 steps in the back of the castle. After you go up the front steps, keep right. No loud music, or being loud in on top of a Castle!
