In 2000, New York financier Thomas F. Leddy purchased a solid, three story townhome on Macon Street. Over the next few years, he transformed the unremarkable row house into an opulent palace worthy of nobility. Artisans worked tirelessly for years to remove rotted wood, floors, re-plumb, level, and rewire in anticipation of the European artisans that were waiting to install antique tile flooring, gold fixtures, copper tubs, and over a year's worth of intricate trompe l'oeil painting. The end result was Savannah's very own palace worthy of a king. Though Mr. Leddy no longer lives in Savannah, his reputation for grand parties and flawless entertaining live on to this day. His former home may lack some of the grand accessories it once had, but the amazing trompe l'oeil artistry lives on. This amazing home calls for someone to shepherd the next phase of its life. It begs for impeccable furnishings, oversized live floral displays, cut crystal, and dinner parties found only in Savannah.
