They were natives of Staten Island, New York. She was the proprietress of the Old 76 Coffee House, later called the Marlboro House. In 1841, she deeded the house to her son Nathaniel Fowler (1814-1884), house carpenter; and wife, Lavina E. Garrison (1819-1870). House remained in the family until 1901.
