Nice size in-law studio in the Piedmont Avenue area (viz., section of Howe Street between 41st and Ridgeway, right near St. Leo's church). My spouse and I live in the front unit. It's a charming old house. Because we live in front we are trying to find someone compatible (mature, rational, responsible, and courteous). It is for single occupancy and no pets. The rent is reasonable because despite it's charm, it is still an old house (an Oakland classic in my opinion, but I've done upgrades); and also a way for whomever rents it to appreciate and take care of the unit. Our last tenant saved a lot of money, and we got along nicely. The unit does not include laundry, but the laundromat is just around the corner. Street parking is by permit, and the City of Oakland charges about $30 a year plus an initial fee. Many in this area don't own a car because everything they need and transportation (including Kaiser shuttle to BART) is nearby. MacArthur BART station is a 20-25 minute walk. The 51 bus line is 2 blocks away, which goes to downtown in one direction and Berkeley in the other. There are many other AC transit lines just a couple blocks way as well as SF Express line. (Please do not email or drop by, call if you are interested and want to see the studio.) Utilities included (gas, electricity, water, and garbage). We could arrange for a guest access our Wifi.
