My wife & I purchased this house In 1997. We have spent a great deal of time making improvements and restoration. The house is extremely solid & strong,the exterior walls plus an added center wall is built out of solid Brick and Limestone. It has a grand hallway with the original staircase.All lowered ceilings have been removed and the original tall ceilings exposed and restored. All original woodwork,doors and transom windows are still intact. All woodwork is painted except the staircase railing. The roof over the 2-story main section has near new 110mph rated wind endurance,expensive Certanteed brand shingles were used. The attic is vented very well with new ridge vent and new under the eave vents. The house is very comfortable and the utility costs and property taxes are reasonable. The 2-car garage was placed on skids and the county doesnt Tax it,which is another savings. The downstairs is heated ,forced air,the rooms upstairs have other options.Huge Wood Stove needs vent installed,minimal cost,2-rooms used as bedrooms were once heated with plug in baseboard heat. Our family are all grown married and no longer live here,so its just the 2 of us both retired. For added income the house is large enough that part of it could be rented as done in the distant past.
