We built our natural cedar sided home (painted white), in the year 1996. It is privately located on the west bank of the Hudson River at the end of the property’s quarter mile long driveway, which leads past our newly built, large, cedar sided storage barn. The home is set in a 39.4 acre wooded area that includes, not presently farmed, apple and pear orchards. The expansive view from its terrace and countless windows of the Taconic Hills, looks over the Hudson River from a high vantage point on Marlborough Mountain. The included acreage is suitable for organic farming or wine grape production. We have recently completely renovated the home and property including installing state-of-the art Mitsubishi® Hyper Heating® Cooling, energy savings, heating and air conditioning and an energy conservative heat-pumped Hot water heating system. The property is located 65 miles from Manhattan. The kitchen walls are hand painted ceramic tiled walls created by a local artist. These thematically depict our local apple orchards. The kitchen has a new stainless steel refrigerator. The first level also contains 2 powder rooms, a laundry room with newly updated appliances. The second level includes the master bedroom with a walk-in closet, full bath and a large sitting room. Two additional large bedrooms share a full bath and a guest suite with full tiled bath, which is accessed by a separate oak stairway. The basement is surrounded by 8 Marvin windows that let in sunlight and fresh air. It has a newly built workshop. The attic is accessed by drop down stairs. We have partitioned 700 square feet of the full attic into a paneled storage area. These additions of the family room, attic and workshop increase usable space to 7400 square feet. Not reckoned in the 7400 square foot area is a 2 ½ bay garage and 1000 square feet of basement utility space that includes endless rows of steel industrial shelving. Flooring throughout the home is solid maple. The Livingroom floor is bordered in rosewood, 300 sq. feet of foyers are surfaced with imported granite. Interior stairs, balusters and railings are made of solid oak, and ceilings are 9 feet high. Roofing is a 40 year GAF product. Attic insulation is rated R-44. Our well supplies the home with 80 plus gallons per minute flow. We installed a second well to water the gardens.
