Furthermore, since it is partially underground (though there are stairs to enter), the unit stays remarkably cool in summer and well-insulated and warm in winter. The bedroom has a walk-in closet, ceiling fan, and a window with a view of the Seattle skyline. Full bathroom has jet tub/shower, marble tile floor and accents, and tons of built-in shelves/storage. Laundry facilities are shared with the homeowner. All utilities are included--gas, water/sewer/garbage, electricity, internet, security system, and routineyard maintenance. $50 dollar surcharge for utilities for a second person. There is a detached garage that you may either use for a smaller car or as shared storage space. There is also ample on-street parking. The unit has a separate entrance, however, given that it is in a home where the storage space, garage, and laundry facilities are shared with the homeowner, this is not a traditional apartment rental and somewhat more like a house-share with your own space. On rare occasions, access to a utility closet in the apartment may be required for service of the hydronic system and hot water heater for the whole home.
