    This 1-bedroom OR 2-bedroom apartment has a location we hard to beat in Portland! It is walking distance to brew-pubs, coffee shops and natural areas. It is a short drive or bike-ride to downtown and division street retail. It is close to many area hospitals with easy freeway access. The apartment is a bit unusual in that I have the option of renting it as a one or a two bedroom. There is a security door on the main floor that I can lock if I want to rent it as a one bedroom. If I unlock it, it leads to a set of stairs going up to a very large bedroom. This bedroom has an air conditioning unit because it can get warm in the summer. The bedroom has another security door that I keep locked if it is rented. If it is not rented, I use this bedroom as a guest room. I can rent the second bedroom for an additional $500 per month and additional $500 security deposit. I can also include furnishing with the apartment price to be negotiated. The space My home was built in 1910 and originally sat on 5 acres of farmland. In the 1920's the home was expanded to include the apartment now for rent. I have owned the home since 2015 and have updated the apartment with a new oak floor, new appliances, and sound-proofed all the adjoining walls. The studio apartment is part of a duplex. I live with my teenage daughter next-door, though the studio is quite private. I am available to deal with any issues that may arise. The studio has a fenced backyard with a small porch and places to sit and lounge. There is also a front porch with seating. Traffic on SE Steele is light except for morning and evening commuting times. There is plenty of on-street parking. I have a small garden from which you would be welcome to share and eat from. I also have chickens and fresh eggs are part of the deal. Tenant access All of the apartment space including the front porch and front-yard and (fenced and secure) backyard. Dog considered no cats. Additional pet fee of $100/month and additional security deposit of $100 required. One pet maximum. 6 month lease minimum. Tenant past own utilities except landlord will contribute $50/month for water during months of June, July August and September (for the garden). Property has chickens and landlord shares eggs. Tenants are encouraged to participate in the vegetable garden. Property is strictly no smoking of any kind.
