We have at least two fully furnished private single rooms available on the 2nd floor (female floor) in a newly renovated vintage house, 4264 Howe St Oakland CA. We are looking for easygoing, studious, and social housemates that get along with the rest. Location: Large house one block off Piedmont Ave across from Fentons Ice Cream, Timeless Coffee shop, and several restaurants and shops. Redfin scored the location a 98 (Walker's Paradise), so daily errands should not require a car. CVS and Piedmont Grocery are just two blocks away. In the front of the house there is a Yoga / Gym area where house mates have put an elliptical machine, yoga mats, core exercise benches, and other equipment to share. In the back yard there is an apple tree, fig tree, Meyer lemon tree, and loquat tree. New Renovation: Your beds are brand new (Mattresses still in plastic) with 35-41 cubic feet of underbed storage, new bedroom and common area furniture, new bathrooms, and other new renovations. The house is vintage. Social Events and Philanthropy: Periodically, the house will have social events, semi-formals, and mixers on the first-floor larger social space and 2nd floor. The house community may have health type classes and activities which promote the welfare and quality of life of others. Work and Study: The house has a general culture of study and work at the common area tables, at the 2nd floor patio table overlooking the hills, and in your room. There is also a library, coffee shop, tea shop, boba shop, and French bakery one block away. Parking/Bikes: Street parking is free for longer term, when you get an Area A permit from the permit portal. You can also have your dedicated onsite parking spot for a fee as available. You can park your bicycle in the back yard. To respect house mates with allergies, we need to try to reduce allergens. This means we can't have smoking, cats, dogs (even the hypo-allergen type), or other allergens. UC Berkeley: 20 min bike ride down College Ave, 30 min via public transit, and 15 min via car. The landlady has been managing Oakland residential rentals for over 30 years. I am only at the house part time for now and am involved in the housemate search. Previously, I've lived in a house with six people per floor with shared bathrooms. I currently have a strong study and work schedule and plan events for networking and fun.
