We walk to Crusoe’s around the corner with our kids and grandkids at least once a week. Their prices are reasonable and the food is great. It is three short blocks to Urban Eats where we get brunch once or twice a month on Saturdays. It is somewhat trendy and really good. There are some vintage shops across the street from Urban Eats. Barb can sometimes talk Ricardo into stopping at one on the way home. The shop owners are cheerful and helpful. Winkelmann Pharmacy on Meramec and Compton is one of the last apothecaries in St. Louis. It is a family owned business with a long history in Dutchtown. Two neighborhoods encompass our house, Dutchtown and Mount Pleasant and both have neighborhood committees. Many homes are immaculate and well maintained. On the day we moved in, our neighbors brought us cookies and welcomed us. We have gotten to know the neighbors well since that day fourteen years ago. We take walks every evening with our dog and talk to neighbors out for their walks. Around here, it is considered rude to pass someone without greeting them. We were attracted to this community because of the diversity and because we felt that, we were getting a lot of house for the money. We know you will enjoy this home and the neighborhood.
