Located in a calm residential pocket of Northeast Richmond, the house is a comfortable 1,800 sq. ft. and features a private two-room suite. You will have exclusive use of two rooms. The sunny bedroom comes furnished with hardwood floors, midcentury modern style furnishings, brand new memory foam bed, and a door to your outdoor patio. For the office / work space, you have a choice between the office space in the main house or a cute, free-standing, finished cottage space in the grassy backyard. The lockable cottage has hardwood floors, big windows and strong WIFI. There's also an outdoor sitting area just outside the cottage. The shared parts of the home include: living room, dining room, and a well-equipped, recently renovated designer kitchen with dishwasher, and in-unit washer and dryer. The Living Arrangement & Privacy I am the landlord and the other roommate.... my job involves a lot of travel. Because I am away for 2 - 8 weeks at stretch, my roommate will often have the entire home to yourself to enjoy. The only small favor I ask while I'm away is a little help keeping the house plants watered and communicate on the home as needed. A lot of times, it will feel like you have an entire 1,800 square foot house to yourself. When I'm home, I'm usually relaxing or reading, I like maintaining good boundaries so that we both have our own privacy and individual routines. I am 50 year old artist, community organizer on progressive issues, and university educator (I love my home and hope you will too!) The house has been described by other renters as peaceful, quiet and a great place to work from home. Many a book or thesis has been written by past renters who lived here. Location & Commute The home sits in a safe, quiet neighborhood with straightforward access to I-80, BART, and Ferry access. 20 minutes drive to UC Berkeley without traffic. (many of us in the neighbourhood commute to Berkeley for work) The Details Rent: $2,100/month + utilities. Six months lease term preferred, with four months minimum. No pets. No smoking. Shoe-free home. No heavy scents, chemical use, or hairspray in common areas of the home. No large gatherings / parties. Please set alarm whenever leaving home. Renter is kindly asked to help water indoor plants once a week, whenever owner is away.
