Unique over 100 year old, Marcellus area farmhouse for rent This house has recently undergone significant refurbishment, and looks great, but it is still over 100 years old. The house has a living room, dining room, kitchen, pantry, laundry hook-ups (washer and electric dryer), bedroom and bath on the first floor. The upstairs (reached by a steep, narrow stairway) has two rooms which have been used as bedrooms, storage, or an office. It has hot water heat with old style radiators using fuel oil, an electric hot water heater, NYSEG electric, OCWA water, and propane for cooking. The propane range and refrigerator are included. The house that is available is the front house on a lot with another house on the back of the lot and the driveway is shared. There is separate parking for at least two cars without blocking the driveway. The house is next to and across the street from a cemetery, and there is one house next door on the other side. Tenants are responsible for all utilities, regular lawn maintenance, and a shared responsibility for snow removal in the driveway with the tenants in the rear house. The monthly rent is $1350 (one thousand three hundred fifty dollars), with a security deposit of one month's rent, plus a $450 deposit for the fuel oil. The tank was just filled with 150 gallons of fresh fuel oil and if it is left the same at the end of the lease, this part of the security deposit will be returned immediately after the house is vacated. The house is available for occupancy now, and the lease can start anytime, and runs for one year from the date the tenant wishes to occupy it. The rent is due each month before the monthly anniversary date of the lease. Venmo seems to be the preferred method of payment with my other tenants, but other ways will be considered.
