    What's special

DESCRIPTION: Lovely 1940s upstairs 2 bdrm, 1 bath apt, approx 800 square feet, recently restored by Caroline and Jim. It's one of 6 apartments in a small, gated, quiet complex that is private and secure. We are hands on owners, and do most of the work ourselves. Our goal was to create a beautiful home, not just renovate an apartment. FEATURES: Beautiful kitchen with oak cabinets, tile counters. Hardwood oak floors throughout, and porcelain tile on the kitchen and bathroom floors. Ceiling fans, double paned windows, and insulated walls and ceilings. Attached garage with a remote operated garage door. Also, several racks for additional storage. New washer and dryer in an on-site laundry steps from the apartment. EXTRAS: The apartment overlooks a beautiful landscaped Japanese garden designed and built by Caroline and that is irrigated by an eco-friendly low water demand drip system. Most times you don't need to heat the apartment. On hot days, you open the windows, turn on the ceiling fans, and nature will keep you cool. Alternatively, close the windows and doors and let the central AC keep you cool. As well, all your neighbors are friendly, quiet, and responsible professionals who respect one another's privacy. CONCLUSION: This is a SMOKE free and Dog free complex, so non-smokers, and no dpgs, please. We pay for gardening, water, and trash removal. You pay for gas, lights, cable, and internet. The attached photos show several interior views of the apartment, the Japanese garden, and 2 Kansas St. sidewalk scenes on Kansas Street. Please note the residential aspect of this street. It's pretty much as it was when these properties were first built. It's a nice feeling. We're asking $1925 rent, a one year lease, and a $1925 fully refundable deposit. The apartment is Available Jul 8, 2017. Please call Jim: 858-483-7849 (home) 858-945-4853 (cell) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: PROXIMITY: We are 1 block to bus lines and 3 blocks to Interstates 8 and 805, and very close to I-5, I-163, and I-15. You can be almost anywhere in the city or county in 15 to 30 minutes. Downtown San Diego is a 10 to 12 minute drive by taking Utah St. to Pershing Dr. through beautiful Balboa Park. The airport is a 15 minute drive on Meade Ave., Washington St., and Pacific Hwy. If you prefer, you can go downtown or to the airport by freeway, but it will take longer and won't be as serene an experience. For cyclists, the times to inner city locations on surface streets are not much different. LOCATION, CULTURAL AMENITIES, NIGHT-LIFE, AND HISTORY: Our apartment is in the geographical center of many historic inner city neighborhoods--North Park, South Park, Morley Field, Trolley Park, University Heights, Hillcrest, Adams Avenue's Antique Row, Normal Heights, The Boulevard, and not least, Kensington, Tallmadge, and City Heights. This places our apartment in the heart of San Diego's most delightful and historic neighborhoods.
