So wood products, adhesives, paints, carpeting, and other materials were all specifically chosen that have little or no off-gassing of volatile organic compounds. The house has thick 2x6 exterior walls with blown in cellulose insulation, high efficiency heating and cooling, and an on-demand hot water heater. The windows in the house and sunroom were designed to allow in plenty of natural light and capture solar energy in the winter.
