The tide comes in under the house that sits on pilings. Nature abounds: eagles soar, salmon splash, minnows sparkle in the water as they move around the house....seals, sea lions, sea otters, hummingbirds, and more forces of nature visit this sophisticated nature retreat daily! Most recently, the tenant awoke to a pod of orcas blowing on a Sunday. The pod of 4 (one baby) swam around right in front of the house for a time stopping, magical experience. A few weeks later, we were surprised and our lives changed by a professional, pop-up fireworks show The tenant is still elated after those totally mind blowing, magical experiences. Want to plop your kayak right into the water from your deck? Or maybe in the mood for a row? Simply drop either shared boat into the sound and float and row. You just won't find this experience if truly living anywhere. The water is half river water, half salt water.... and the nature that visits is out of this world. This unit is one of two units of the home. This unit only is appropriate for ONE PERSON due to the sewage outflow pump....More than one person will overload the pump. So, this is available for one person only. Please do not apply if you need accommodations for more than one person (for the protection of the house.) Inside the studio, you will find a one of a kind door that separates the kitchen from the rest of the space! It's a unique sliding crystal piece that was purchased and restored, to its fabulous grandeur from The Columbia Tower Library in Seattle! Reclaimed, original wood touches and large beams from the original property make this space truly unique and interesting. There are also industrial modern touches with the original metals from the wood beams. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower. It also has cozy heated, tile floors. It was designed with movement and nature in mind, as you will notice with flowing tiles on the walls and the natural (heated) stone floor. Location is a few minutes south of Browns Point and approx 11 minutes to downtown Tacoma. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis. Non-smoking property (nicotine products not negotiable). If you are interested, step one is to be pre-screened. Pre-screening includes providing a brief description (including pertinent info about yourself and what you are looking for) in an email. Please do note this home can only accomodate one person max due to the pump lift and well. Please include all your pets and any potential future pets. First, last, deposit/fee(s) [security deposit, potential pet fee, cleaning fee, and any additional, applicable fees] due at signing. A 12 month lease is preferred. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis but references and a meeting with the pet is required. If you wish to bring your pet, the monthly rent will increase and there is a non-refundable pet fee. If you would like to stay for 18 months the rent will be reduced. Applicable reference and safety checks (such as a credit check, background check, and references) are also required. Will consider a short term lease for unique circumstances (such as a travelling healthcare worker). The price for a short term lease will be higher. The unique nature of the property and sewage setup can only accomodate one person so the max capacity of people who can be on the lease and live here is one.
