This exceptional home was built by Amana craftsmen in 1964 and was one of the first designs in Eastern Iowa by the architect John Hix. The Prairie Style was inspired by the broad, flat landscape of the midwest and typically has low horizontal lines, extensive use of glass and broad open spaces. It is constructed entirely of cedar, stained outside and varnished inside. The home sits on 1.24 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. See Addendum for rest of remarks!
