This house was originally built in 1649 and retains much of its original charm. In 2008 it underwent a complete renovation creating a new house inside a very old one. Some of the original woodwork, bricks and flooring were retained but most were updated during the renovation. The original wood siding remains on the house, but it is covered and protected by hardy plank. It is virtually a maintenance free exterior. In the attic are original beams that are incredible. The staircase, front and back French Doors and one of the mantels are almost certainly original. The house is spectacular. But what makes it even better is that there is a view of the river looking out of the back and a spectacular view of fields and sunsets looking out of the front. Fruit trees are plentiful in the yard itself and the figs, apples, pears, huckleberries and cherries are delicious. Deeded access to the Rappahannock River and a community dock and beach are included.
