The Central Troy Historic District is included in the National Register of Historic Places Program. The building has also been declared a New York State Historical Landmark. The structure, which completed construction in 1896, is a testament to ornate & intricate architectural stylings. It was the most expensive home in Troy, NY following the completion of construction, costing an estimated $800,000 to construct (~$22M today).. The facade of the structure is magnificent Indiana limestone, representing that of a Castle. And the interior of the building is a mesmerizing journey into Victorian history. The structure has been preserved as much as possible to maintain many of the original historical appearances and details. The interior boasts features such as a ball room with Italian marble walls, intricately carved woodwork, & a number of stained glass windows. Some of the original furniture has also been retained & preserved, & is staged & featured during the annual Victorian Stroll in Troy, NY.
