    What's special

Hi! Please read carefully. We are three considerate, friendly, artistic, busy young professionals living in West Philadelphia. We live in a house on Catherine between 49th and 50th (4 houses away from Baby's Ice Cream, across the street from Mariposa Co-op, Dock Street and Satellite Cafe, and Cedar Park is our front yard). We are looking for two housemate to move in around September 1st! About our house: it has a big kitchen, living room, an on-site washer/dryer, a front porch and garden. 4 bedrooms total, 2 and 1/2 bathrooms, plus a guest room and an office/artist studio space. Transportation - Getting around without a car is very easy. The 34 trolley is half a block on Baltimore. There's plenty of parking on the street, and you do NOT need a permit! Score. Local hangouts - some of us go downtown for drinks/food, and some of us go to the Baltimore Ave corridor. The Green Line cafe is about an 8 minute walk away, and Dock Street Brewery is a literal 30 second walk. Tons of good restaurants about a 5-8 minute walk away. About the rooms - We have two rooms available. Utilities and laundry are included! Both rooms have hardwood floors and large southern-facing windows so you'll have plenty of natural sunlight. Room 1 is on the 2nd floor, has a large bay window, a gas fireplace and is about 255 sq. ft. Rent is $740 a month. Room 2 is on the 3rd floor, has a tall ceiling and is about 200 sq. ft. Rent is $650 a month. Pictures of both rooms below, both include the full use of the house, full kitchen, living room, pantry, garden, porch, and guest room (2100 sq. ft. home). About us: We all have fairly busy lives, and know that you probably do as well. However, we hang out when we can, including dinners and sitting on our front porch listening to jazz in the park across the street. Let's call it a 'loose community' sort of thing - we share food, cooking, chores, etc. We keep the the house clean :-) We also try to be aware of environmental issues and our energy use/water use and stuff like that. We each make our own decisions about it, but it's something that most of us care about. About YOU: We are looking for a friendly housemate who is considerate and responsible and is looking for a cool group of people to live with. If you are vegetarian or vegan, that is a plus. Must be friendly to diversity of race and gender (no cavemen or mean folks, please!) Some details: we all share electric, gas, water and internet bills. We each cook one meal per week and make lots of leftovers, so you end up saving a lot of time cooking (compared to living by yourself). It's not required that you join our cooking rotation, but we will definitely favor you if you want to partake of delicious meals cooked for you and are ready to cook for the house once per week. No pets, sorry. The rooms are available August 1st. If you want to know more and come check it out, please reply and we will be in touch! Please tell us a bit about yourself and what interests you in this sort of situation - we get a lot of replies, so making yourself stand out a bit is a good thing :-) If you mention the cookie monster in your email, that will be great, so we know you have read this all the way to the bottom :-) Thanks. Enjoy the photos! Neighborhood Description University City District cleans up our street regularly, we have a beautiful small park across the street, diverse, caring neighbors.
