    What's special

Stylish and spacious corner unit loft with cityscape views and a stellar floorplan that features two walls of 9' energy-efficient windows with 12' ceilings. We have enjoyed this sunny and beautiful home for almost five years and are heartbroken that we can't take it with us to the East Coast when we relocate this summer for work purposes. UPGRADES: Granite countertops in kitchen and bathroom Many Ikea closets and cabinets: storage in front hallway and kitchen; wardrobe in bedroom Two types of window coverings throughout most of home: light blocking and light filtering Two aviation themed ceiling fans/lamps Built-in shelving in study, bathroom, closet, and sitting area Shelving and curtains in lofted storage area Garbage disposal STANDARD ROSSMOR AMENITIES: Building owned art collection displayed in common areas Polished concrete floors Lofted storage Dishwasher and built-in microwave Movable island and corresponding cabinets in kitchen Environmentally friendly District Energy heating and cooling Off street contract parking (one space, but we have easily rented a second during our time here) Community laundry room with three washers and three dryers on each floor Easy access to transit options Neighborhood Description ABOUT THE ROSSMOR: The Foot, Schulze and Company building (now known as the Rossmor) first operated as a shoe factory in 1916. Several years after its last use for manufacturing, the building served as home to many artists who leased studio space. The Rossmor building became known for the artists who sometimes lived there, and was one of the stops on the original Saint Paul Art Crawl. Today, the seven story building has 109 residential spaces on floors two through seven. The first floor is home to restaurants, bars, and other services, including Key's Cafe, Sawatdee, Camp Bar, Scott Miller Salon, Equipt Gym, and Fitzgerald Park Gifts. ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Currently, the downtown North Quadrant/Fitzgerald Park neighborhood is home to residential buildings, small shops, restaurants, and bars, as well as larger businesses. The Fitzgerald Park neighborhood includes arts, cultural, and historical organizations such as Fitzgerald Park Theatre, Minnesota Public Radio's headquarters, the Minnesota Childrens Museum, the Minnesota History Theatre, and the Minnesota State Capitol. The downtown North Quadrant/Fitzgerald Park neighborhood will see some exciting new developments over the next one to three years. The Central Corridor Light Rail Transit (CCLRT) has a planned stop on Cedar and 10th streets - a three block walk from the Rossmor's front door. On a diagonal corner from the Rossmor's 10th and Robert Street corner, a Lund's grocery store is slated for development beginning in summer 2009. In addition, the City of Saint Paul's comprehensive plan for this neighborhood includes building Fitzgerald Park, an active recreation space for people who live or work downtown, on a portion of the block directly across the street from the Rossmor's front door.
