I relocated my painting studio and living space from NYC in 2017 to Cochecton, NY. I built a large 3,200 sq ft pole building and designed the interior to my needs. I'm a high end contractor in NYC so I'm accustomed to high quality design. There is an 800 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 1-1/2 bathroom apartment with a large living room, dining room and kitchen 'great room'. There's a large 1,700 sq ft + studio facing north, looking out over a beautiful green pasture in back through large 8' x 5' windows. There's also an integral garage space I use for tool and material storage (with a 10' x 10' garage door you can use it for a vehicle). Because the pole building shell is structural in itself, there are endless interior partition options available. You can move walls, add or remove rooms, etc, as desired. There's a new well, new septic system, new power, internet, etc. All installations are high efficiency. There is a 5" concrete slab with radiant heat in it, properly insulated below, and I recently installed a nice soapstone wood stove in the studio. I'm in the process of adding a house generator, but since I'm located on both a school bus route and a hospital route, power rarely goes out and if it does it's temporary. There's a 1000 gallon propane tank that runs all hot water (house and heating), on demand well water as well. All new Anderson windows throughout. This is a perfect building for a creative couple, although the large studio can be used for just about anything (I make large paintings). If you prefer a nice modern living space, open air, large open interior spaces, alpacas and horses for neighbors, a nice open field, relative seclusion but 5 minutes from shopping Callicoon, or 15 minutes to Narrowsburg, maybe less to Bethel Woods - you might want to see it.
