Hello, I am a 36-year-old male seeking a roommate for a bedroom in a 3800 sq. ft. home with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The house's common areas have tile and hardwood laminate flooring (kitchen, dining room, butler's pantry, laundry room and pantry). The bedroom is large, carpeted, and has two closets and an en-suite bathroom. There is some art hanging on the wall that I can take down if the renter has other things they'd like to put up in their place. **All common areas are also fully furnished and may be used by anyone living here and paying rent. The house has a washer and dryer, fridge, dishwasher, and a spacious pantry. Anyone may use the living rooms to watch television, play on a gaming console, relax, etc. The house has a lot of natural light and is only a 10-12 minute drive from Texas A&M University-Commerce, Walmart, and Brookshires.** The bedroom is available for $900 a month, which includes rent and bills each month. (Bills include electricity, water, trash, and internet. The house does not have cable, but streaming services are available on the television in the living room. The house sits on four acres in the country off Highway 24. There is a fenced-in backyard. I currently work M-F, 8-5, at the university in Commerce, so I will not generally be home except in the evening/nights and most weekends. I have one elderly miniature dachshund that lives in the house and two standard poodles that spend most of their time in the mud room or the backyard, but they may come in on occasion. I have chickens, so roommates can expect farm-fresh eggs most of the year. I enjoy cooking and entertaining friends and families during the holidays, and renters are always welcome to join in if they do not have plans to go elsewhere. If you're interested in gardening, there are flower beds and pots for your hobby. There are two porches, front and back, should you be a smoker. If you have pets and are interested in the room/s, please reach out, and we can discuss them. I prefer no large indoor dogs, as the 15-year-old mini dachshund may not do well with a large active dog in the house. Cats are fine if their litter box is kept clean and the furniture and carpeting are not damaged. I do not leave the dog on the carpet unattended to prevent accidents, so there's a large pet gate from the main portion of the house into the hallway leading to the bedrooms. I am a relatively quiet person, as is the dog. We would appreciate other quiet roommates (no drama). Drinking responsibly in the house is fine, but drugs are not. Please only reach out if you are serious about living here, are responsible, and can pay your rent and bills on time on the first of each month. This is not a party house or a home for wayward persons. Two other people are living in the house: - A retired gentleman with his emotional support dog, who is quiet and enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and relaxing. - A young woman who works at a local nursing home who is very quiet. I will respond to text or a phone call faster than an email, so please feel free to reach out that way. I prefer someone committing to at least six months at a time. No smoking indoors, please. Also be respectful of others in the house and of the furniture and appliances in the shared areas.
