Last night I dreamt I went to the lovely cottage bungalow again. As I stood outside in the soft morning light, I once again admired the beauty of the cedar shake shingles and the wide steps flanked by sturdy columns. It reminded me of the romantic sun swept cottages on the Cape where we used to summer. But this time, my dream was different. This time the home beckoned me to come closer. As I walked up under the shady coolness of the front porch I noticed the door was slightly ajar. Once inside I was nervous that I would be discovered but soon realized that I was completely alone. The tall brick fireplace with built in bookcases immediately commanded my attention. My eyes traveled upwards towards the impossibly high coffered ceilings. Right off the living room was a sumptuous dining room with the same coffered ceilings and charming original plate rail. The kitchen over looking it all was resplendent, dressed in granite counters, recessed lighting and gleaming stainless steel appliances. And oh my goodness, could it be?.. there were all of my cookbooks lined up like little soldiers waiting for their next assignment! The bedrooms were all spacious with the master bedroom offering up a HUGE closet and a new designer en suite bath with double vanity marble sinks. Awakening from my dream I reached for my phone to check the new listings my Realtor had sent me and my heart skipped a beat.. for there was the bungalow from my dreams!
