I am a young professional who has been living and renting in the Bay Area for almost 10 years. This has been my favorite place to live, by far. First off, the basics. It is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhouse with two parking spots located in the carport attached to your well fenced-in yard. The townhouse is a corner house, located at the end of the subdivision. It has washer and drier in unit and central heating. Lease is for 6 months with the possibility of extension. Rent is $3000, parking included. There is a neighborhood pool and a locked mailbox assigned to the unit. Cats and dogs 40lb are allowed. Move-in is on February 1st with some flexibility. Deposit is $4500. Now for the list of reasons why this has been my favorite place to live: 1) Commuter's paradise. The house is in the Village Circle community which is located right next to the highway. It does not add extra time to your commute. I have been commuting to my work in SF and have very much enjoyed the experience- listened to podcasts, called my friends/family, or got to unwind with music before coming home from work. The daily views of the Golden Gate Bridge did not hurt either. 2) The price. Paying $3000 for a remodeled, well-kept 2 bedroom/2.5 bathroom townhouse with a yard, 2 large storage sheds and 2 parking spots (with additional and always available street parking at no extra cost) in the Bay Area is a rare find. 3) The silence and peace. You will never hear your neighbors. Not only are the walls thick, but you are located at the end of a subdivision, with no neighbors at all to one side- you are next to a wooded area which houses the occasional wild turkey and deer. This location also means that you have no people passing back and forth in front of your windows, and it is rare to have a car pass by. Due to a hill and the said wooded area, your windows are also difficult to see from the road. Although the neighborhood is right next to the highway, your house is not. 4) You are located right next to a gorgeous meadow with a view! If you walk down the driveway and turn right, you will access a large, beautiful meadow with rolling hills, weathered oak trees and tons of wildflowers (in the spring) that overlooks the city of Novato. The photo with purple flowers was taken from that meadow. There is also a swing attached to a tree from which you can take in a breathtaking view. It was our favorite thing to do after a long day of work. 5) Washer and drier are located on the second floor. It sounds simple, but not having to drag heavy loads up and down the stairs almost daily really made a difference for us. 6) It is safe. I have felt safe walking around the neighborhood by myself in the evenings and at night. Our packages have never been stolen, and I have never felt unsafe getting in and out of my car, even when coming home from work at 2am. 7) The yard. It is not a large yard, but it has a gorgeous lemon tree, large bushes, and is exceptionally well fenced-in. This is a significant advantage if you have a furry friend. It also opens up right into the carport, so you do not have to walk far to your car. 8) The house is located less than 10 minutes from an endless list of different hikes- many with waterfalls and stunning views. I included some pictures we took on those hikes. 9) The landlord. Our landlord has been exceptionally responsive, diligent, and kind. Regardless of what the issue was, we always heard back from them right away, and the issue was promptly addressed. They take their role seriously. 10) The master bedroom. It has its own bathroom, a walk-in closet, and another large closet with floor-to-ceiling mirrors. 11) Storage space. There is a TON of storage space available. There are two large, locked sheds in the carport that belong to you only, there is a closet in the downstairs hallway, a "Harry-Potter" closet under the stairs, a large closet with floor-to-ceiling shelves in the upstairs hallway, a large closet with mirrors in each room, and a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. 12) The heated pool is 50 feet from your house. There is a no-smoking policy.
