I built this home as a luxury writers retreat, giving each room a uniqueness and color to stimulate thought. Two bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and loft spaces in each. On one side the bedrooms connect via the heated floor bathroom with a giant bathtub. The other is through a cute high ceilinged hallway which leads down a spiral staircase. Winding down the staircase into the unassuming corridor between kitchen and living room. Taking a left you enter a beautiful modern kitchen with raw butcher's block countertops and white glassed cabinets. Very spacious to cook by yourself or with a few friends or family on the large propane gas range equipped with an outdoor reaching vent. Sit in this quaint kitchen and stare out into the woods as you enjoy any meal. Equipped with a large refrigerator and a small drink/wine fridge. On the other side of the corridor we installed a german high end wood stove that closes and adjusts on different settings to keep the place warm on cold to chilly nights. In this front room there are three doors: 1st leads to the machine room where the gas or electric powered laundry can be done and the whole house heating and water filtration system. In this room there are 2 small windows and a back door. 2nd door leads into a beautifully heated tiled bathroom. With a french feel in here, it is one of my favorite rooms of the house. Colored LED lighting option on the ceiling and a hydro-powered LED system in the shower. Heated toilet seat... so nice, spacious. 3rd door leads you to the screened in porch area, the largest room of the house. I chose to keep it like this as in the middle of the summer it keeps you safe from those pesky mosquitos, so you can enjoy time with the weather, basically outside. If you wanted it is ready to go for making this an indoor setting as well. This porch has 2 doors leading to the side of the house (garage) and straight out towards the gravel driveway and road. Looking from the outside it resembles a Japanese style Stucco home. I chose this 50 year lasting outer layer because it seals everything from the outside, helping everything inside last longer from nature trying to get in. The base of this home is concrete slab, reinforced from its original form. The entire ground floor has cinder blocks between the walls, keeping the temperature cool in the summer and retaining heat longer in the winter. The water here is amazing, I am located near a reservoir but have a 180ft well, which resources this water rich environment known as the Delaware watershed. Some minor aesthetic work could be done and there is a lot of potential for expanding. I have also pre-built, half of a garage and currently use it as a car port and in fine weather bring the gym equipment in this area to use. To build the other half, which you could connect to the house, you would remove the current garage, instantly expanding x2 indoor space. Walking in the back is all forest and could walk to the reservoirs and watershed hiking trails(easier to go around tho). I am in the process of breaking up the property lines here to 1 acre plots. If you are interested in more than the 1 acre we can talk, but I'm pretty in love with this mountain base area and will be planting fruit trees and walk/jog/x-country ski paths.
