The house was built in two parts in the 1970's and 1980's and is of sturdy post and beam construction. It is situated on a lovely hillside and surrounded by a wrap around deck with hot tub and outdoor shower. We built a music studio where the top floor serves as an additional guest room. Our home has a light, airy and open feel. It is heated by gas and also has a highly efficient wood stove built into the fireplace which provides heat and a beautiful visible fire. Comfortable beds. Complete kitchen. We will be available by phone, and will provide a friend/handyman to show you the house and take care of any issues. We would be glad to offer recommendations and introduce you to some of the folks in the neighborhood. The Neighborhood We live in a wonderful neighborhood where we have known most of our neighbors for over 40 years. The Packer Corners/Belden Hill area is the home of numerous artists, musicians, writers and filmmakers and there are many cultural/intellectual activities that take place in the immediate area where the Kopkind Colony and the Friends of Music host many public events throughout the year. The greater Brattleboro area is a mecca for the arts with a monthly arts walk. The Marlboro Classical Music Festival is close by and the area hosts many other concerts and cultural events. The Vermont Jazz Center brings in nationally known artists and the Vermont Performance Space is establishing both a top notch music studio and choreography program. There is nearby down hill skiing in Wilmington and cross country skiing, snow shoeing and ice skating right outside the door. Getting Around We are about 8 miles from Brattleboro and a little further to Greenfield in the south. There is no public transportation. First month, last month and security ($1800) due at beginning of lease. Snow plow is included. Utilities are not included.
