JIM THORPE, PA Located under the Jim Thorpe mountains near the Lehigh River. This was the ancestral lands of the northern clan of the Lenape-Delaware Indians. You are directly in town, close to the heartbeat of an immensely historic town known internationally as "The Switzerland of America" that once was the second most popular tourist spot in America. Jim Thorpe is a 4 season town in the western Poconos with an amazing history, stunning beauty, whitewater rafting, shows, historic train ride, museums, wineries, entertainment, music, mountain biking, hiking, paintball, restaurants, spectacular architecture and many festivals. Surrounded by forested hills in a small canyon forged by the Lehigh River, the area has rich wildlife and birds. Eagles and hawks are often sighted. The hills turn snowy white in winter, gorgeous colors in autumn, blooms with flowers late in April and a lush green all summer long. You can drive to golfing, skiing, casinos and waterparks. There are state parks, lakes with beaches, nature trails, river and gamelands for fishing and hunting in-season. Farms and farmer markets, restaurants, antiquing and quaint shops. This is a serene and tranquil paradise that will melt your stress and worries away. A HISTORIC BUILDING This amazing building has a deep and diverse history to the 1800s. Once a central gathering place for the east side of Jim Thorpe, it was the site of George Eck's sweater knitting mill, karate studio, art studio, spa, Joe Brown's general store, apartments and the town bowling alley. We even found 2 mineralized bowling balls almost 70 years old and a bar made out of the original alley floor! ABOUT US We also live in Jim Thorpe. An actress and a writer, we own several historic buildings. Owner pays trash, sewer, water
