I have a 2-bedroom 1 bath upstairs unit in a duplex is available on 3/10/2026 on the South Side of Youngstown. There are about 15 steps to get to the unit. We are not set up for Sec 8. Hardwood flooring in both the bedrooms, carpet in living room, dining room and hallway. Kitchen and bathroom have vinyl. It is rather spacious with approximately 1000 sq/ft and you will have your own porch upstairs. There is a faux fireplace. There is a 2-car driveway. You will need to supply your own refrigerator and stove. The rent is $800/mo + you are responsible for all the utilities (Electric, gas, water is split between the amount of people in the building) and you are also responsible for the landscaping (Mowing and weeding) and snow removal. The duplex is located on a quiet block. We require 1st month's rent and Security Deposit equal to the rent (2 x $800= $1600) There is also a $150 water security deposit as well. I allow pets and the tenant would have to pay an additional $30/mo rent and a one-time $150 non-refundable pet fee for each animal. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee for doing a background check, and you do not have to pay until you have looked at the unit first and you have decided to apply. We do not collect the application fee in advance; you pay in the end once you and I have made a decision to move forward. I require ID and proof of income such as 2 recent paycheck stubs. We do consider all types of income, but I will need to be able to verify the income that's stated on the application. I do give second chances for people with a criminal past or a past eviction or never rented before, and you will have to pay an additional month's rent ($800 x 3 = $2,400) we may ask for a Co-Signor and/or both. I look at every application on a case-by-case basis regardless of history. The duplex is located near Taft Elementary school which is in walking distance.
