Neighborhood Description This tract was barren and undesirable when Ben Haggott co-developed it with Roy Dolley in the 1940’s. They had an unused corporation named “Seaside Ranchos”. Although this tract isn’t on the sea shore they decided to use the name anyway. The 209 acres only cost $212 per acre then! Half of the Seaside Ranchos tract (west of Linda Drive) was built by Ben in 1947. They originally sold for $11,500! Getting people to move to this part of Torrance was a hard sell back then.
