Neighborhood Description Between downtown/Heritage Hill and the pricey East Grand Rapids, Eastown is the more casual, young, ethnic-restaurant-and-lesbian-bookstore area of Grand Rapids. It's a mixture of black and white, young and old, renters and owners. Our street has been going up in value - and the houses are looking more cared for - for the past decade. We have great neighbors, and it feels like everything in GR is 15 min. away at most.
