The home is so former hunter's kit cabin built in the 1920s. We have owned it since 2008 and have called it home up until recently. As designers, we have remodeled the home to reflect its hunting heritage and incorporate its Scandinavian roots. Some of the references toward a hunter are literal, such as the houndstooth tile floor and the leather drawer pulls. Some of the concepts are more abstract the tile and guard rail have a pattern reminiscent of bird's feathers. The home is a very efficient scale, at about 703 square feet (above grade) we had to design everything to be as functional as possible. We chose to omit things that took up too much space, or things that only served one purpose. The upstairs closet was removed and substituted with an open wardrobe to save space on walls and doors. The cabinetry was all 100% custom made, on site, to maximize every inch of functional opportunities.
