We’re selling our wonderful house in the Armatage neighborhood of Minneapolis. It’s a 4-bed, 2-bath, 1.5 story home that we have loved for the last 10 years. A few highlights – all bedrooms are above ground, open concept main floor, newer appliances, newer windows, beautiful oak hardwood floors in every bedroom and throughout the top two levels, a huge family room, and an unfinished bonus room in the basement that can be converted to an extra bedroom, office, additional bathroom, or whatever else you can dream up. Plenty of kid-friendly additions we are happy to leave for the new owners (sand box, chalk board, etc.). Since we just went through the home-buying process, we thought we would try to get the word out a little without using a formal agency arrangement, doing all the staging, etc. It’s such a waste to see a house for sale with “new carpet” and “fresh paint” that a buyer doesn’t like. Our goal is to discount for our time, staging, agent fees, touch-ups, etc., and let the new owners pick out their own finishes if they want to change them. Of course, this means our house is minimally staged and there are plenty of little reminders of our kids throughout the house (minor dings in the walls, some crayon art here and there, etc.).
