Room details
Hi folx! I'm looking for roommates to rent two cozy rooms in a great 3.5 bedroom townhouse-style apartment right in the heart of Temescal. Reach out if interested!
About the rooms:
Both rooms are on the lower level and have a window that looks out onto the private garden. The spaces are quirky and cozy. Room 1 has a large closet, room 2 has a smaller one. These rooms are definitely small, about 10x10, but there's plenty of extra space available in the attached garage that could be used for storage or an art space or whatever else. The furnishings in the pictures can stay or go. They're the quietest rooms in the house, nice and cool in the summer and need a space heater in the winter. Southeast facing windows. The rooms can be rented separately or together.
About the apartment:
Two story townhouse. Two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen (gas stove, dishwasher), laundry (washer/dryer), garage, parking spots for 2 cars plus easy street parking, huge private yard and garden with vegetables, herbs, flowers, lemon tree, plenty of seating, lots of sunshine.
About the location:
Awesome location, walking distance to everything: 10 min walk to MacArthur BART, 10 min walk to Whole Foods, 5 min walk to post office, 1 block from dozens of restaurants, cafes, and shops on Telegraph. 2 min drive to the highway entrance. The only downside is we're next to the highway and BART tracks, so if you're sensitive to noise this might not be the ideal spot for you.
About me:
I'm a 42 year old queer white cis woman. I work as a therapist and am completing my doctoral dissertation in clinical psychology. I enjoy cooking, gardening, drawing, napping, and watching any psychological suspense show I can find on Netflix.. plus every now and then a quirky ensemble sitcom just to balance things out. I'm more of a nester than a partier. I smoke, outdoors only. I'm interested in building community within and outside of my household. Oakland has been my home for 15 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
About you:
Ideally mature and looking to create a home rather than find a crash pad. Interested in helping build/maintain the garden would be a big plus. Clean and conscientious. Individuals, partners, caregivers with kids, and/or pets are welcome.
About Us:
We'll keep the place clean, wash dishes promptly, share food/groceries and household responsibilities. We'll interact with each other, communicate regularly, make shared agreements about how we create our household as the need/desire arises. Hopefully we can develop a communal and caring atmosphere.
About the moneys and the logistics:
Rent: $995/month per bedroom
Utilities: PG&E (~$150-250), Water (~$150-250), trash ($63), internet ($60), and monthly cleaning ($200) are divided evenly between tenants
Security Deposit: $995/bedroom
*If Interested: Message me with a bit about yourself and what you're looking for to schedule a time to meet and see the apartment. If it seems like a good fit, you can then fill out a rental application which the landlord will approve.*
