One of the oldest neighborhoods in Spartanburg, Converse Heights is filled with lots of charm, traditions, and beautiful houses. Every July 4th, there is a neighborhood children's parade. Children of all ages participate with their decorated bikes, wagons or strollers. At Halloween, children walk easily from house to house, and neighbors sit on their front porches to be part of the excitement. Christmas means elegant decorations on doors and in windows. The neighborhood church sends out carolers. Spring is one of my favorite times because of the avenues of pink and white flowering dogwoods. Throughout the school year, you see children walking or riding their bikes to Pine Street Elementary School.
