New kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counter tops, large cabinets, slate floor, newly refinished wood floors throughout the house, new windows, white slat blinds on all windows (Next Day Blinds), new exterior and interior (translucent glass) doors, new siding, new gutters, designer cedar closets in all bedrooms, new HVAC, newly insulated attic - R50, newly remodeled 1/2 basement with carpeting, large corner lot that is open and clear, brick exterior with white trim. New roof in 2013. Neighborhood Description This neighborhood is quiet, near Bren Mar Elementary School, within 3 mile of the middle and high schools. It is close to 395 and 495, has two bus services run to either Van Dorn Street Metro or the Pentagon Metro (HOV access for a quicker ride into the city), near very good restaurants, grocery stores, dry cleaning, etc. This community has a pool during the summer with membership dues. Great pool and tennis courts! (also has basketball and horse shoes behind the pool. All included in the yearly membership fees.) Out of the 444 houses in the community many have turned over in the last 2 years due to economic issues and have since been fully renovated. I've been in many homes (for open houses and community clean up day visits) that were sold at a low rate, fully renovated, and are selling at a good price. Though short sales and foreclosures are a bad thing, well, the upside is an opportunity to transform homes and upgrading them to new. One would say that 1/3 to 1/2 of the community has gone through upgrades before the downturn (at the peak) and after the recovery. The community has never looked better.
