Seeking Conscientious, Communicative Housemate for Large 3 BR House in NE Portland (shared with 1 person only) Looking for a female/non-binary housemate to share this amazing, large 3 BR/1 bath house that I've just rented on a beautiful, peaceful street in the Cully neighborhood (NE Portland). You would be sharing the house with just me and my very sweet indoor cat. (Sorry, no additional pets). Available now but willing to be flexible with timing for the right fit. I'm also considering setting up a composting toilet which would free up some bathroom capacity. Rent ranges between $1,050 - $1,200 + utilities (gas, electric, water, Internet). Rent amount depends on how much of the space you would like to use. Deposit = one month's rent. About the house: - large living room, dining room, kitchen & kitchen nook w/large windows & lots of natural light - gas range, washer/dryer, dishwasher - 2 separate finished basement rooms with an extra range oven and utility sink (great for canning). LOTS of room for storage, or projects like pottery, woodworking, or yoga/workout/lounge room, guest bedroom, you name it - fully functioning wood burning stove in living room - the open bedroom is on the main floor, my bedroom & office are upstairs. Bathroom is on the main floor. The open bedroom can be furnished or unfurnished & is 10.7' x 10' w/a large closet (green walls with hardwood floors in photos) - the office would be available for use when I'm not using it for work if you'd like (I'll only be using it about twice/week) - HUGE backyard with lots of opportunity for gardening, open garden shed on the back of the garage, good sized front yard - detached garage that could be used for parking, extra storage, or additional projects - Covered driveway - The house is mostly furnished but has room for more stuff if you've got it - The neighborhood is really lovely, friendly and quiet, with plenty of restaurants/shops nearby and is a great area for biking About me: I'm a 41 yo, single, cis female, professional. I work from home a couple days a week. I live a relatively quiet lifestyle, am clean (but not rigid), respectful, considerate, and communicative. I'm very aware of the impact I have on those around me including noise, smells, mess, etc. I rarely drink but fine if you do responsibly, and am drug-free. I try to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. I occasionally watch some TV but not excessively. I enjoy getting outdoors when I can. In my free time I like to hike/spend time in nature, read, cook, garden, spend time with friends, and am looking to get more into homesteading activities. I'm into backyard birding and passionate about conservation. I am also really passionate about holistic health/mind-body work. I enjoy social time but require solo/quiet time to recharge. I plan to have small gatherings of friends for dinner occasionally (you would be more than welcome to join), but no parties and quiet hours are very important to me. I'm generally in bed by 11, up by 7-8, depending on the day. I value a low toxin environment and minimizing my impact on the planet through various practices. You: I'm looking for a female/non-binary roommate with similar values, a relatively quiet home life, and preferably similar sleep schedule. Also looking for someone who is aware of their level of noise. If you are someone who is heavy footed/stomps around when walking or speaks very loudly when on the phone, this probably would not be a good fit. Looking for a long term roommate, but would be ok with a minimum of 8 months. I'm hoping to find someone who wants to help make this place feel like home, engage in conversation around the house but also respects solo time, have occasional shared meals, and also have open dialogue about boundaries, schedule, preferences, etc. This would also be a great opportunity for an artist, woodworker, gardener, and/or homesteader! I'm very open to different ideas of how to utilize the garage, basement and yard as I've only just moved in and haven't made any major decisions yet. It would be great to find someone who is interested in collaborating to maximize the potential of this incredible space, but not a requirement. If you're interested, please reach out and let me know a bit about yourself, as well as your timing, and why you think this might be a good fit. Thanks! (Note about the photos: some photos are pre-move in except the living and dining rooms which have my current furnishings, and the open room which has both furnished and unfurnished photos).
