I know how you are feeling. About a year and a half ago, I was just like you. I was combing Craigslist and Zillow and spending hours on different facebook housing groups to find something better than what I was currently living in. You love Madison. You love the culture, the atmosphere. You love that you can walk to almost any restaurant in the downtown area, and the ones you can t are only a bus ride away. If a genie would grant you three wishes, you would use at least two of them on finding the perfect apartment inside Madison. You would tell your genie that you need a big enough place to actually *live* and *enjoy* being in without needing 16 roommates to afford it. You need to be within walking distance to stores, restaurants, and entertainment. You need to be located on a bus line so you don t *have* to take your places if you don t want to. Oh, and it needs to have parking that isn t an extra $1000 a month. You need a kitchen that is big enough to whip up some Hamburger Helper or, if you are feeling fancy, spaghetti and meatballs. And a place to eat said dinner would be nice as well. You need to a washer and dryer in unit because hauling all your clothes down to the basement or across the street is just a time suck and you are sick of having to cross your fingers and hope that your clothes are still there when you return for them. Plus, you aren t sure how long your mother is going to let you bring your dirty goods home for her to wash when you visit. You also need a dishwasher because aint nobody got time for that. You need a place that doesn t charge a month s worth of rent for a non-refundable pet security deposit on top of a refundable security deposit on top of extra monthly rent per cat you own. You need a landlord that isn t sketchy and a maintenance team that actually responds to your emails about your broken shower that won t stop running water. You need to not hear drunk people walking down the street yelling at well, just yelling. You need to be in a safe neighborhood because you have been watching the news and you *know* things are happening places. You need a gym on site you are sick of paying for a membership you never use and at least you wouldn t feel obligated to keep renewing it if one was included in your apartment. And again, you need to not pay a million dollars for said apartment. You need to not pay even $1000 for the apartment. But you are like me. You know that if you want to live in Madison, there is no way you are getting anything that is even close to fulfilling your wishlist. Unless you rub a very antique looking lamp and a genie grants you three wishes. Well, consider me your genie. That apartment you swear doesn t exist within the confines of Madison? Well, it does. I ve found it. And I ve lived in it for over a year and a half. I was even contemplating moving into a two-bedroom unit in the same complex, but after viewing them, I decided I couldn t give up all the features *this* particular one bedroom unit had. The only reason this apartment is available for sublease right now is because I was offered a job up north that I have to relocate for!I don t want to say this apartment is the answer to your prayers but . This apartment is the answer to your prayers. This apartment checks EVERYTHING off your list: -Spacious kitchen featuring an island with cabinets and additional built in storage. It includes a oven and electric range with a microwave, refrigerator, AND A DISHWASHER. Plus, cabinets. Cabinets galore. *Note: This is the ONLY other apartment in the COMPLEX with the additional built-in storage. -Dining room (yes, an actual dining room!) that fits an actual dining table. I fit a six foot dining room table in there, and there was still room for everyone to sit around it! You will be hosting dinner parties and game nights like nobody s business! -Patio right off the living room, with enough room to put some patio furniture on. We used to grill out and eat dinner on the patio in the summer and it was just lovely. *BONUS - additional storage unit off the patio! -Bathroom has a HUGE vanity with a HUGE mirror. You will have plenty of room to get pretty, look pretty, and store all your items to make you pretty. -FULL-SIZED washer and dryer IN-UNIT with additional storage for all your detergents, cleaning supplies, etc. -Bedroom is also very large with an extra nook that fits a desk perfectly! *BONUS - gorgeous mountain mural on the wall if you are into that. Now it wasn t part of your original needs, but are you really going to say no to a walk in closet?? -The complex is non-smoking! The entire complex! No smoking in the parking lot, near the entrance of the building, or even on the patio/balconies. You will be able to breathe confidently. -Your purring furbaby can live with you FOR FREE. That s right! No additional security deposit or monthly pet fee will be tacked on for your good deed of adopting a cat in need! In fact you can have up to two cats, still for free! -You are located in a highly favorable part of the Madison s west side. You are situated just a stone s throw away from West Towne Mall, Menards, Petsmart, Bonefish Grill, Starbucks, Adlers, Taco Bell, Target, Pick N Save, Woodmans, Walmart, Marcus Cinemas, etc, etc, I really could go on and on. No more dreading a long drive or walk if you forgot to pick up milk on the way home! -Off-street parking is INLCUDED in the rent for one car. If have two people on the lease, that gets bumped up to TWO vehicles, no extra charge. They do have underground parking available for an extra fee if you are feeling fancy. -The clubhouse features a gym, a pool, a hot tub, and a community room that has a *free* movie library!
