This is a historic home built by Mills College deans in 1927 and designed by the noted arts and crafts period architect John Hudson Thomas (for more info, search him on Google). The archives of his work (and the original plans for this home) are located at UC Santa Barbara. This home was designed during his English House phase and is an exemplar of the Arts and Crafts Movement begun in England by William Morris. It features wooden beams, gorgeous sheltered green views, and a beautiful fireplace in the small-scale "Great Room" as well as charm galore. A very unique and distinctive one of a kind property It was also the model for the architect's own home, built the year after (1928) in Kensington and has been lovingly restored by the current owner, a historic preservationist.
