Stadium District is a neighborhood, complete with a 4th of July parade with an old fashioned fire engine, ending with donuts, coffee, and lemonade for all. Much activity centers around the Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club with tennis and swimming lessons and lots of social opportunities. Mixed ages, with elders, singles, and mostly families with children K-12. Street lights glow in the evening; people walk at all times of the day; an easy walk to the corner shopping area where family owned pharmacy, grocery, restaurant, video store (best in Tacoma for vintage and foreign) and service station (where they pump your fuel wash your windshield EVERY time) are long time anchors. Sledding on the few steep blocks when possible and adults always keeping an eye out for the neighborhood children. PS: Yes, we will miss this... pretty special place
