It also includes some large parklands and many hiking trails. Palisades Charter High School serves the neighborhood. It is known as "Where The Mountains Meet the Sea." Notable shops in the village include Norris Hardware (which originally was the Bay Theater), Cathay Palisades (formerly Fein's Deli), Black Ink, PaliSkate, Benton's Sporting Goods, and Village Books.
